Most nights, I am just satisfied with opening a can of green beans and heating them up in a small pot (maybe adding some salt, pepper and finishing with a little bit of butter). This recipe is a great way to prepare fresh green beans, and gives a great meaty taste due to the soy sauce and beef bouillon.

Ingredients
2 pounds of fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
1/2 cup butter
1/2 white onion, chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/4 cup of water
salt and pepper (to taste)

Cooking Directions
Trim and rinse the green beans.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over high heat. Add the onions and garlic. Cook for 1 minute. Add the green beans, and mix well. Stir in the soy sauce. Add the bouillon and water and stir. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes. Drain. Season with salt and pepper.

In this version, I omitted the onion and garlic, but here is where you would add it and cook for 1 minute.
