This page will have some of the places I have run - mainly on my TDYs. The first few are just some test ones. I am hoping to track all of my runs on my Aug/Sep TDYs first to see if this is something I want to keep up. This not a complete list of the runs - particularly the first ones, but hopefully an online log that will help me run more.
I use a Garmin Forerunner 305 that allows me to download my data and then check the routes in Google Earth.
Update: Most of these are from 2010 - I am going to start adding some from 2011 and hope to keep this up through the end of the year.

|
8/28/2010 |
New York City - 7.2 miles (Times Square to Central Park).
Still didn't make it to the end of Central Park, but I did run around the lake. My feet and knees are going to pay for this, but I am glad I got out and run. Didn't mean to cut back to the west in Central Park, but a wrong turn led me that way. It worked out OK, though. |

8/27/2010 |
New York City - 5.3 miles (Times Square to Central Park).
This was one I was looking forward to - but Central Park is pretty big and I had a meeting I had to drive up to West Point to attend, so I cut this "short" (at 5.33 miles, it's still one of the longer runs I have done recently). I have at least one more run while I am here, maybe I will go further into the park). Interestingly (or maybe not), the jiggly lines are from the GPS losing and regaining contact, not exactly the route, but pretty close. |

|
8/25/2010 |
Boston - 5.3 miles (Along the Charles River).
For what it's worth, this really sucked. This was during a "Nor'Easter", with a constant a light drizzle and around 62 degrees, with a lot of pretty strong gusts. That trek across the bridge on the right of the picture was pretty treacherous with the wind coming in -- plus, when I looked at my watch and saw that I might not make it back before the parking meter ran out, it became a race of a different kind (oh, I wish I had put another quarter in the meter). But, alas, I made it back. Next trip to Boston, I want to make it to the next bridge. |
